AV AUDIOVISUAL TECHNICIAN (PART TIME):

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to be an integral contributor in our Technical & Media Department
Rate: Up to $50 per hour; dependent on experience
Location: Northeast Calgary
 

About the Role:

The Audio-Visual Technician position is vital to the success of everyday church events. As part of one of the largest media ministries in Alberta, we incorporate media into just about every aspect of our ministry efforts. When the needs of any ministry outside of the main sanctuary are necessary, the A/V team works to equip the rooms and spaces with the required A/V equipment to ensure the highest quality of presentation.
 
This position reports directly to the Head of the Technical & Media Department.
 

Responsibilities:

– Properly set up, operate, remove, store, and maintain all AV equipment for meetings/events
– Familiarize oneself with the building, its equipment, policies, programs, and services, as well as the day-to-day schedule of events
– Ensure the setup and storage of A/V equipment after all events, as well as keeping the storage areas organized
– Read and interpret room diagrams with respect to AV setups
– Troubleshoot A/V equipment and facilitate repairs when warranted
– Awareness of and adherence to safety, security protocols, and emergency procedures
– Provide basic instruction on the operation of AV equipment as necessary to support the ministries and departments we serve
– Clean and maintain A/V equipment, report damages and misuse to the Head of the Technical & Media Department
– Handle sensitive, confidential information and assignments with tact, discretion, and diplomacy
– Other duties as assigned
 

Requirements:

2 years minimum experience in the industry-related field working in multi-room setups, dealing with Audio, Video, and Lighting.
– Experience must include signal flow, troubleshooting, electrical understanding, and customer service.

– Extensive technical knowledge and experience in working with sound, video, and lighting systems and their design, including terminology and methodology
– Ability to troubleshoot and make basic field repairs as required on equipment
– Demonstrable experience in multi-tasking and prioritizing requests and demands
– Excellent analytical skills, interpersonal skills, and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
– Being prompt and timely is essential to the function of this position
– Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

Serving as a Prayer Partner or as a volunteer in any ministry of the Church, and
Serving our community through local outreaches from time to time, when needed by the Church

Pastor & Children Ministry Director

Rate: $24 000 – $48 000 / year
Location: Edmonton
 

Role and Responsibilities:

Program Leadership and Development

· Design, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate, Bible-based curriculum and programming

· Oversee all children’s ministry activities, including Sunday services, midweek programs, and special events

· Ensure programming is engaging, structured, and aligned with organizational standards

 

Staff and Volunteer Management:

· Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate ministry staff and volunteers

· Develop schedules and ensure appropriate staff-to-child ratios are maintained

· Provide ongoing leadership development and training

 

Regulatory Compliance and Safety:

· Ensure full compliance with the Alberta Child Care Licensing Act and Child Care Regulation (where applicable)

· Maintain and enforce safety policies, procedures, and emergency protocols

· Ensure proper documentation, including incident and injury reporting

· Oversee adherence to all child protection and safeguarding standards

 

Family Engagement and Communication:

· Establish and maintain professional communication with parents and guardians

· Address concerns with discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality

· Support onboarding and integration of new families

 

 

Administration and Reporting:

· Maintain accurate attendance and program records

· Manage inventory, supplies, and ministry resources

· Provide regular operational reports to church leadership

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Candidates must meet Alberta Child Care Staff Certification standards:

· Minimum: Level 2 Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certification

· Preferred: Level 2 or Level 3 Early Childhood Educator (ECE)

· All certifications must be issued or recognized by Alberta Children’s Services

· Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search

· Intervention Record Check (IRC)

· Valid Standard First Aid with CPR Level C

· Mandatory Child Intervention Training / Child Protection Training, including:

· Duty to Report under Alberta Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act

· Recognized Child Intervention / Child Protection Course (e.g., Government of Alberta orientation, Children’s Services training, or equivalent safeguarding certification)

 

Preferred Skills

· Minimum of 2–5 years of experience working with children in a childcare, educational, or ministry setting

· Demonstrated experience in leadership, supervision, or program coordination

· Experience in curriculum planning and structured program delivery

· Demonstrated Christian faith and commitment to spiritual growth

· Alignment with the vision, mission, and leadership of The Citadel International Church

· Active participation in church life and services

· Passion for children’s spiritual development

 

Additional Notes

· Availability required on Sundays and during scheduled church programs

· Occasional evening and weekend commitments

· Ability to actively engage in a child-focused environment
