Rev. Dr. Lanre Smith

Senior Pastor

Pastor Lanre is a charismatic leader, visionary, provocative thinker and an anointed man of God who serves as the Senior pastor of The Citadel International Church, a non-denominational place of worship headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta. He started ministering over 25 years ago at Foursquare Gospel Church, Lagos Nigeria. Anointed in the ministry of prayer, healing and the prophetic, his powerful presentation of the word has touched countless lives over the past twenty five years.

Pastor Lanre Smith is a genuine man of God whose mission is to build and equip an end time army of Christ that will engage in spiritual warfare to pull down and demolish every stronghold and operation of the enemy. He offers counsel, direction and mentorship to people aspiring to be spiritual leaders. He conducts various training sessions through books and prayer manual aimed at aiding the growth of church workers, new believers, and entrepreneurs. His materials help to establish these individuals both spiritually and professionally.

Pastor Lanre is also a gifted bible teacher and scholar who unapologetically exegetes the word of God, revealing new truths for spiritual development. He is a strong believer in the word of God, one who knows that there is no substitute for the Word; it is the lifeline of the believer and the church of Christ. He received his bachelor’s degrees in Liberal Studies, Archaeology, Theology and Anthropology, and his Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Theology. He also trained and worked as a Information Analyst.

The Holy Spirit spoke to him in December 1996 to prepare himself for a journey to Canada, where God will use him to start a great Prayer Revival. A few years later, he answered the call of God to leave Nigeria for the United States to study theology and learn the dynamics of the North American church. After his studies, he pastored at Voice of Comfort International Ministries in Charlotte, North Carolina from 2002 – 2006. In 2007, he also commissioned a church in Phoenix, Arizona. In 2008 he answered the call of God to move to Edmonton to start a prayer revival.

He’s happily married to a powerful woman of God, Pastor Elizabeth Smith and they are blessed with 4 children.
